I just came back from a fantastic holiday in Mallorca with my honey. He is also an Integral Coach and we had the luxury of spending our extra hours shooting the breeze talking about personal development. I love creating practices, so I was so excited when he suggested we buy a couple of small notebooks at the airport for the purpose of writing practices on our trip.
When I work with clients, each time we meet they leave with specific, targeted practices to aid them in meeting their unique goals in the coaching program. The treat on this trip was to be able to spend such an open-ended amount of time feeling into some of the various situations we humans can find ourselves in, and to play with creating practices designed to get us unstuck and move us forward in life.
Sometimes I was scribbling practices in the car as we were driving through hairpin turns, sometimes I was jotting down ideas in cafés or hotel rooms. Being able to dedicate so much time to practice design invited me to remember the joy in creativity itself, no matter the outcome (which I can sometimes forget in my desire to “get somewhere”).
